The only info we have is that his grandfather explored and surveyed in KY, IL and MO. as a US Govt surveyor. Abram came to Il in the 1830s and lived in Coles County, IL

Researching the family of JEFFRIS, they were in Grayson County Kentucy Thomas JEFFRIS moved to Grayson county in March 1811, he died there and is burried on his farm. He died Spring 1815. Most of his family then relocated to Illinois. Any connections out there?

Grayson Co., KY, David Casey and David Casey, SR both there in 1820 census. They are on 132 along with Henry Casey. John Casey is on 133. David Casey follows Robert, Henry and John to IL in 1840. Need relationships. Washington Co. KY, Robert Casey appears in 1810 census with two John Caseys. Mercer Co. KY, Robert Casey marries Barbara Queen, January 14, 1797. David Casey marries Elizabeth Blake Oct. 11, 1815. Need information on these families.

Researching the Alvey-Higdon lines in Daviess & Grayson Counties amongst others. Specifically looking for a J. Valentine Alvey who married a Mrs Elizabeth Livers(mainden name Head) about 1870. Had son Mathais Allie, then Elizabeth died and Valentine married Henrietta Towery. Nothing known of whereabouts. May have died in the McLean Co area and thought to be buried in St Benedict's Catholic Cemetery in McLean Co. Any info would be helpful. Have much to share on these lines

Searching for marriage, death, burial information on James Akers son of Josiah Akers and Sarah Garrett. James Akers married Martha Hart in Grayson Co., approx. 1848-49. Their children were Sara, Abraham, Rachel A., and Joshua W. James sold his Grayson Co., property to daugher Rachel in 1900. No further information found. Solomon Columbus Overton was b. 11 Jan 1848 in Breckenridge Co, KY. About 1870 he married Sarah Jane Kiper of Grayson Co. In the 1880 census she is a widow with three children. Does anyone know how or where or when Solomon died?

Seeking information on several BROOKS and allied families, who went to Grayson Co. from Wythe Co., VA, in early 1800s. Sarah BROOKS, who was b. in Frederick Co., VA, abt. 1769, m. John LEHEW in Frederick or Wythe Co. This family moved to Grayson Co. in 1806, and Sarah died there after 1850; John LEHEW d. in Grayson Co. by 1830. Children were Mary LEHEW/LAHUE and William LEHEW/LAHUE. William m. Mary LITSEY.

Sarah's sister Margaret BROOKS, who was b. abt. 1772 in Frederick Co., VA, also came to Grayson Co. with husband Joseph DAY (1 June 1768-6 Oct. 1855). Both died in Grayson Co., Margaret in 1857. Did Sarah and Margaret BROOKS' mother Margaret accompany these families to Grayson Co. and die there? Were there other related BROOKS lines in Grayson Co.? Will gladly exchange. Need all info and location of Mary Cruse or Crews b abt 1805, who married 8 Aug 1824 in Hardin Co, Ky to William Lardin. Surety was Prosser Cruse and witnessed by Prosser Cruse and Willis Cruse. Mar by T. Whitman. Believe Mary is sister of Prosser and Willis. Also desire the identity and all info on Willis Cruse. Both Mary and Willis seem to have disappeared from Hardin and Hart Counties where Prosser raised a large family and descendents still live, in the area of Hodgenville in LaRue County and even all over Ky and U.S.

Seeking information on African-American ancestors from Grayson Co. (Leitchfield), KY.:

BOONE = Tillie Ann (Anna), b. ca 1830, known to have been a slave of Francis R. BOONE of Bear Creek (somewhere near Leitchfield??), KY.
HIGDON = William & Ellen, Anna's parents. Ellen might be Ellen BOLEN, found in 1850 Marion Co. census with Theresa BOONE, Francis' aunt.
WOODSON = William Thomas, b. ca 1838. Married Anna BOONE around 1870. WOODSON = Alford T. (William's father.) and Melvina Rhodes (William's mother.)

Any mention of these names as slaves in a will or deed would be greatly appreciated.

NEALE & SHEPHERD FAMILIES - Aloysius Neale and John B. Shepherd settled their families in Grayson County, KY 1820-1847. They were Maryland Catholics who settled KY after 1817. I would like to know which Catholic Church has the records of their children's baptisms. Their children who married are Joseph Richard Neale b. ab. 1822 and Martha Ann Shepherd b. ab. 1825.

Glenda Bastin Wednesday, October 30, 1996 EDWARDS - Looking for information on the parents of WILLIAM ASBURY EDWARDS. He was born March 12, 1837/1839. He married Nancy Josephine HERROD on December 16, 1862 in Edmonson County, Ky. He died June 17, 1909 in Hart County, Ky. Wm Asbury Edwards fought in the Civil War and was injured in the Battle of Atlanta. I have copies of his pension papers and his own account of his injury during the war. He and Nancy Josephine Herrod lived in Hart County, Ky. on the Grayson County line, and they had 10 children: Martha Jane "Mattie" Edwards married Stephen Douglas POLSTON/POSTON; Jessie Tomes Edwards; Bonny Anna Edwards; William "Willie" Edwards married Mary Pos Matthews; Rosa Bell Edwards married Benjamin Alvey; Mary Tabitha "Toby" Edwards; David Newton Edwards; Charlie Luther Edwards; Sarah Silvannah Edwards; Clinton Clero Edwards. Researching the Ream(e)s family of Hart County. Robert Reams was born in South Carolina on Feb. 8, 1786. In 1807 Robert Reames Settled in Hart County (Hardin County at the time), with his wife Annie West. Robert Reames was a Methodist Preacher and built the Ream's Chapel Church at Cane Run in Hart County. After the death of Annie West, Robert married Sallie Dorsey. Robert and Sallie had a son, Robert Dee Ream(e)s. Robert Dee Ream(e)s married Lutisha Logsdon. Robert Dee and Lutisha had a son Walter Reams. Walter Reams married Mary Elizabeth (Lizzy) Smith. Walter and Lizzy had a son Curtis Lee Reams. Curtis Lee married Winnie Powell. Curtis and Winnie had a son Gerald Reams. Gerald Reams married Susan Cox (daughter of Willie Cox, Cub Run Ky.). Gerald Reams and Susan Cox had two children, Rebekah and Stephen Reams. All of the above were from Hart County, Kentucky, except for Winnie Powell and Gerald Reams who are from Grayson County, Ky. Also the Ream's Chapel Church is deteriorating badly and we risk losing 150 years of Hart County heritage. I would like to correspond with any of the families that have ancesters buried in it's cemetery or were members of the church. With very little effert the Ream's Chapel could be saved.

Need help sorting the Shepherds from the Sheep! John B. Shepherd b. 8 Jul 1777 d. 16 Apr. 1847 Meade Co., KY, records at St. Martins Catholic Church, he m. Elizabeth Miles b. 1785. They setled in Grayson Co., KY 1820-1845 when they moved to Meade Co. where John died. Elizabeth then moved to Ste. Marie, Jasper Co., IL until her death in 1859. In the late 1840's three of the Shepherd married three of Aloysius Neale's children. Need origin of John B. Shepherd and Elizabeth Miles along with parentage.

I am looking for the full name and origin of my g grandfather. he fathered a son with Vina Whoberry around 1925(my grandfather). The only name I have come up with is Ben Meredith, but I cannot find him on any Census. My grandfather's name is Floyd Meredith. The place of birth is Edmonson Co, but My grandfather lived also in Grayson Co.
